99mTechnetium-pyrophosphate SPECT/CT with novel semiautomated quantification has excellent diagnostic accuracy for detecting cardiac transthyretin amyloidosis.

Objective: This study aimed to assess the diagnostic accuracy of a novel semiautomated method to calculate relative myocardial wall uptake (RCU) of 99mTechnetium-pyrophosphate SPECT/CT in suspected cardiac transthyretin amyloidosis (ATTR).

Methods: Prospective analysis of 108 participants with suspected ATTR. Using novel software, we quantified radiopharmaceutical uptake in the wall of each chamber of the heart at 3 h, calculating RCU for combined ventricular (RCU-V) and whole-heart (RCU-W) measures as a ratio over physiological blood-pool activity.

Statin Drugs Are Associated With Response to Immune Checkpoint Blockade in Recurrent/Metastatic Head and Neck Cancer.

Background: Statin drugs, frequently used to treat hyperlipidemia, are associated with improved survival outcomes in multiple solid tumor types, including head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Preclinical studies suggest that manipulation of cholesterol with statins and other agents can enhance the function of multiple components involved in anti-tumor immune responses. Retrospective studies in other solid tumor types suggest that statin therapy is associated with improved responses to immune checkpoint blockade (ICB), but this has not yet been investigated in HNSCC.

A Pilot Randomized Control Trial of Holding During Hypothermia and Effects on Maternal and Infant Salivary Cortisol Levels.

Background: The lack of physical contact during therapeutic hypothermia (TH) is challenging for parents of newborns with hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy. Holding is often avoided due to concerns for effects on infant temperature and for dislodging equipment.

Purpose: We assessed the effect of holding during TH on maternal and infant salivary cortisol levels and on infant vital signs.

Removal of a Distally Broken Cannulated Femur Intramedullary Nail: A Novel Technique From a Level 1 Trauma Center.

This case report from a Level 1 trauma center describes a novel surgical technique to remove a cannulated intramedullary nail, broken at the distal aspect, from the femur. We present a 40-year-old male who sustained a hardware failure, breaking his medullary nail at the distal aspect 7 weeks postoperatively while performing water aerobics. The broken implant was successfully extracted without complication, and a subsequent nail was exchanged.

Blader et al.'s (2025) recent annual review article makes an important contribution to the literature on emotion dysregulation in child and adolescent mental health. In addition to synthesizing the current evidence base, the authors put forth a cogent formalized view of emotion regulatory processes and how they go awry.
