A new diterpenoid, carneadiol (1), with an unprecedented tricyclic carbon skeleton, was isolated from the culture extracts of Nocardia carnea IFM 12324. The structure of compound 1 was elucidated using spectral studies, including various NMR data. The absolute configuration of 1 was determined using X-ray crystallographic analysis with the crystalline sponge method.

Superhydrophobic paper-based functional materials have emerged as a sustainable solution with a wide range of applications due to their unique water-repelling properties. Inspired by natural examples like the lotus leaf, these materials combine low surface energy with micro/nanostructures to create air pockets that maintain a high contact angle. This review provides an in-depth analysis of recent advancements in the development of superhydrophobic paper-based materials, focusing on methodologies for modification, underlying mechanisms, and performance in various applications.

Dendrite-free Zn anode induced by Sn/NC towards highly efficient Zn-ion batteries.

Herein, Sn nanoparticles supported on N-doped carbon (Sn/NC) were constructed by a g-CN assisted strategy for the interface layer of Zn anodes in Zn-ion batteries. The presence of Sn/NC effectively regulates the zinc plating/stripping process, which makes Sn/NC@Zn outstanding in both symmetrical and full cells.

We develop a data harmonization approach for C. elegans volumetric microscopy data, consisting of a standardized format, pre-processing techniques, and human-in-the-loop machine-learning-based analysis tools. Using this approach, we unify a diverse collection of 118 whole-brain neural activity imaging datasets from five labs, storing these and accompanying tools in an online repository WormID (wormid.
