Over the past decade, neuropathological diagnosis has undergone significant changes, integrating morphological features with molecular biomarkers. The molecular era has successfully refined neuropathological diagnostic accuracy; however, a substantial number of CNS tumor diagnoses remain challenging, particularly in children. DNA methylation classification has emerged as a powerful machine learning approach for clinical decision-making in CNS tumors.

Due to the late-stage diagnosis of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), treatment remains a significant clinical challenge. The metalloproteinases MMP-9 and MT1-MMP play a pivotal role in extracellular matrix remodeling, thereby facilitating tumor growth and metastasis. Tumor progression requires the degradation of the basement membrane.

This retrospective study evaluates the dosimetric benefits of adaptive radiotherapy for head and neck cancer patients. Five patients with node-positive oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma were treated with MR-guided radiotherapy using the Elekta Unity MR-Linac, undergoing 3-4 offline adaptive plan modifications during their treatment. This study compared the dose delivered to organs at risk (OARs) in a full offline adaptive approach versus an approach accounting only for daily setup.

Purpose: MRI-guided adaptive radiotherapy can directly monitor the anatomical positioning of the intended target during treatment with no additional imaging dose. Elekta has recently released its comprehensive motion management (CMM) solution that enables automatic radiation beam-gating on the Unity MR-Linac. Easily visualized targets that are distinct from the surrounding anatomy can be used to drive automatic gating decisions from the MRI cine imaging.
