Micropollutants (MPs) encompass a range of human-made pollutants present in trace amounts in environmental systems. MPs include pharmaceuticals, personal care products, pesticides, persistent organic pollutants, micro- and nano-plastics, and artificial sweeteners, all posing ecological risks. Conventional municipal wastewater treatment methods often face challenges in completely removing MPs due to their chemical characteristics, stability, and resistance to biodegradation.

Here we report that benzylhydrazine hydrochloride (BHC) not only retards the buildup of iodine as previously reported but also prevents the breakdown of organic cations. Through investigating BHC and iodine chemical reactions, we elucidate protonation and dehydration mechanisms, converting BHC to harmless volatile compounds, thus preserving perovskite film crystallization and solar cell performance.

Based on our convergent and flexible route to the disorazole core, we wish to report a robust strategy to synthesize a non-symmetrical disorazole in which we couple one half of the molecule containing the naturally occurring oxazole heterocycle and the second half of the disorazole macrocycle containing a thiazole heterocycle. This resulted in a very unusual non-symmetrical disorazole C analogue containing two different heterocycles, and its biological activity was studied.
