Here, we explored the benzothiopyranoindole scaffold to develop antiproliferative agents with a polypharmacological profile targeting both G-quadruplex (G4)-structures and Topoisomerase (Topo) I enzyme. In a preliminary optimization phase, compound was selected from an in-house collection as a suitable lead for the rational development of a small library of analogs (-). When assayed in NIH's NCI-60 Human Cancer Cell Line In Vitro Screen Program, compound and its demethylated analogue showed significant antiproliferative/cytotoxic activity.

Objectives: The National Vaccination Plan against SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 was launched by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection on 14 February 2021. The main objective of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the CoronaVac in preventing the three clinical outcomes of infection, hospitalisation, or death, in a real-world scenario.

Design: This was a population-based retrospective dynamic cohort study using a multivariate Cox model to calculate hazard ratios to estimate vaccine effectiveness from 17 February 2021 to 30 June 2022.

A large pooled analysis of liver oligometastases, classified accordingly to the ESTRO/EORTC recommendations, treated by stereotactic radiotherapy (SBRT) and Radiosurgery (SRS) was carried out. The clinical and dosimetric data of patients who underwent SBRT/SRS for liver metastases were analysed in terms of efficacy and toxicity profile. In particular, the Local Control (LC), the Distant Metastases Free Survival (DMFS), the Disease-Free Survival (DFS), the Overall Survival (OS), and the Next Systemic Therapy Free Survival (NEST-FS) rates were analysed.
