Background: Anecdotal experience suggests that WHO Safer Surgery Checklist has become a 'tickbox' exercise, resulting in variable team engagement and efficacy.

Aims: To observe the quality and completeness of 'Time Out', together with the level of team engagement during obstetrics and gynaecology procedures.

The increasing use of anti-programmed cell death 1 (PD-1) immune checkpoint blockade has led to the emergence of immune-related adverse events (irAEs), including dysfunction of the submandibular gland (SMG). In this study, we investigated the immunoregulatory mechanism contributing to the susceptibility of the SMG to irAEs. We found that the SMGs of PD-1-deficient mice and anti-programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1)-treated mice harbor an expanded population of CD8 T cells.

A Phase 1 Study of FHD-609, a Heterobifunctional Degrader of Bromodomain-Containing Protein 9, in Patients With Advanced Synovial Sarcoma or SMARCB1-Deficient Tumors.

Purpose: FHD-609, a potent, selective, heterobifunctional degrader of bromodomain-containing protein 9 (BRD9), was evaluated for treatment of patients with advanced synovial sarcoma (SS) or SMARCB1-deficient tumors.

Patients And Methods: In this multinational, open-label, phase 1 study (NCT04965753), patients received FHD609 intravenously at escalating doses either twice weekly (BIW) (5 to 80 mg; n=40) or once weekly (QW) (40 to 120 mg; n=15).

Results: Fifty-five patients received FHD-609 for a median of 43 days.

Individualized Coordination and Empowerment for Care Partners of Persons with Dementia (ICECaP): Feasibility and acceptability.

Background: Informal care partners (CPs) of persons with dementia (PWDs), who are at risk of negative health outcomes, benefit from psychosocial interventions. Individualized Coordination and Empowerment for CPs of PWDs (ICECaP) is a year-long, multi-component intervention comprised of in-person and telehealth psychoeducation and emotional support from dementia care coordinators (DCCs). ICECaP feasibility and acceptability were examined during a pilot randomized controlled trial.
