Violence against healthcare workers during the phases of the COVID-19 Pandemic: a descriptive observational study from 2018 to 2023 in the metropolitan city of Genoa (North-Western Italy).

Background: Violence against healthcare workers is an escalating public health concern, affecting the quality of care, and causing significant psychological and physical effects on healthcare professionals. This study analysed the trend in aggressions in healthcare settings in the pre-pandemic, pandemic, and post-pandemic periods.

Methods: An observational descriptive study was conducted to analyse reports of violence against healthcare workers from January 2018 to June 2023 at a Local Health Authority "ASL3" in the Liguria region of Italy.

A feasibility study of 5G positioning with current cellular network deployment.

This research examines the feasibility of using synchronization signals broadcasted by currently deployed fifth generation (5G) cellular networks to determine the position of a static receiver. The main focus lies on the analysis of synchronization among the base stations of a real 5G network in Milan, Italy, as this has a major impact on the accuracy of localization based on time of arrival measurements. Understanding such properties, indeed, is fundamental to characterize the clock drifts and implement compensation strategies as well as to identify the direct communication beam.

Diagonal earlobe crease (Frank's sign) and increased risk of cerebrovascular diseases: review of the literature and implications for clinical practice.

Diagonal earlobe crease (DELC) or Frank's sign is a diagonal crease in the earlobe that extends diagonally from the tragus to the edge of the auricle with an angle of approximately 45°. Although its presence increases with advancing age, several studies have shown an independent association between DELC and cardiovascular diseases as well as peripheral vascular diseases. DELC has also been demonstrated to increase the risk of cerebrovascular events (mostly ischaemic stroke), probably through atherosclerotic mechanisms.

An Unexplained Congenital Disorder of Glycosylation-II in a Child with Neurohepatic Involvement, Hypercholesterolemia and Hypoceruloplasminemia.

We report on a 12-year-old adopted boy with psychomotor disability, absence seizures, and normal brain MRI. He showed increased (but initially, at 5 months, normal) serum cholesterol, increased alkaline phosphatases, transiently increased transaminases and hypoceruloplasminemia with normal serum and urinary copper. Blood levels of immunoglobulins, haptoglobin, antithrombin, and factor XI were normal.
