Role of cardiac and lung ultrasonography in predicting weaning failure in patients of acute kidney injury requiring mechanical ventilation: a pilot study.

Purpose: Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) has an incidence of 20-50% in patients admitted in Intensive Care Unit. As weaning failure is associated with increased morbidity, its prediction and understanding of its physiological basis holds extreme importance in guided management and prognostication of these patients. We conducted this prospective, observational, single - center study to evaluate the efficacy of transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) and lung ultrasonography (LUS) in predicting weaning failure in patients with AKI requiring mechanical ventilation.

Impact of severe intra-abdominal adhesions on early maternal complications following cesarean delivery.

Objective: The rising rates of cesarean delivery (CD), which are a leading cause of intra-abdominal adhesions, represent a major concern for maternal health. We aimed to describe early maternal complications following CD in women with severe intra-abdominal adhesions.

Light-regulated pyro-phototronic effects in a perovskite CsSnI-reinforced ferroelectric polymer hybrid nanostructure.

The 'pyro-phototronic effect' plays a nontrivial role in advancing ferroelectric (FE) devices of light detectors, light-emitting diodes, and other smart technologies. In this work, a premier FE copolymer, poly(vinylidene fluoride--trifluoro ethylene) (P(VDF-TrFE)), is reinforced with a lead-free double perovskite, CsSnI, to render profound properties in a hybrid nanostructure. It presents a unique example of the coupling of ferro-, pyro- and piezo-electrics to the 'photoexcitation' of exotic charges that actively empower the synergetic features.

A Model for Predicting Severe Intra-Abdominal Adhesions following Prior Cesarean Sections.
