Challenges of the public health response to a rare case of non-autochthonous , Ireland, 2024.

This case report details the public health response to a multibacillary leprosy case in Ireland. The case presented with hypopigmented skin lesions and neurological symptoms. Challenges included delayed recognition in the clinical setting, contact tracing within a congregate setting and lack of specific Irish guidelines.

Introduction: Job satisfaction and intention to leave have been consistently linked to the working environment. However, there are few studies of interventions for improving the environment or staff outcomes.

Aim: To determine the impact of implementing a framework for safe nurse staffing on the environment and staff outcomes.

A boy in mid-childhood presented with right-sided gynaecomastia, which was excised. He represented and, on review by endocrinology, Tanner staging showed stage 2 left-sided glandular breast tissue and some features of virilisation. His testicular volumes remained prepubertal (3 mL).

An Assessment of Multipollutant Exposures Using Silicone Wristbands Among Bangladeshi Youth.

Residents of Bangladesh are exposed to numerous chemicals due to local industries, including dyeing mills, cotton mills, and the use of biomass in daily cooking. It is, therefore, important to characterize the exposome and work to identify risk factors of exposure. We used silicone wristband passive samplers to evaluate exposure to volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds in a sample of 40 children in the Araihazar upazila of Bangladesh.
