Exposure to pesticides such as paraquat (PQ) is known to induce oxidative stress-mediated damage, which is implicated in neurodegenerative diseases. The antioxidant enzymes are part of the endogenous defense mechanisms capable of protecting against oxidative damage, and down-regulation of these enzymes results in elevated oxidative stress. In this study, we have evaluated the protective action of 4-hydroxyisophthalic acid (DHA-I), a novel bioactive molecule from the roots of D.

Oxic condition exist in euhaline region of the estuary that receives oxygenated coastal waters, while, poly-meso-oligohaline region is hypoxic due to the accumulation of voluminous amount of pollutants from industrial effluents, domestic/sewage and agricultural discharges. Additionally, anthropogenically generated nutrients enhanced phytoplankton biomass (chlorophyll a) and their senescence also led to hypoxia.

This study evaluated the potential of zero valent aluminium (ZVAl) based advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) for stabilized landfill leachate treatment. Hydrogen peroxide (HP) and persulfate (PS) were used to generate additional radicals in aerated ZVAl acid process.
