Geographical identification of strawberries based on stable isotope ratio and multi-elemental analysis coupled with multivariate statistical analysis: A Slovenian case study.

The geographical classification and authentication of strawberries were attempted using discriminant and class-modelling methods applied to stable isotopes of light elements and elemental composition. The work involved creating a database of 92 authentic Slovenian strawberry samples and 32 imported samples. All samples were harvested between 2018 and 2020.

Delta albumin is a better prognostic marker for complications following laparoscopic intestinal resection for Crohn's disease than albumin alone - A retrospective cohort study.

Purpose: Little is known about the perioperative dynamic of albumin and its effect on surgical outcome in Crohn's disease. Thus, we aimed to assess postoperative changes of albumin levels and their potentially predictive role for complications after laparoscopic intestinal resections.

Methods: We identified 182 patients who underwent laparoscopic intestinal resection for symptomatic Crohn´s disease between 2000 and 2014 for this retrospective cohort study.

Why the phantom p-wave during general anesthesia?

Although atrioventricular junctional rhythm (AVJR) is frequently encountered during general anesthesia, its genesis is poorly understood. The present study was undertaken to test the hypothesis that AVJR is promoted by hypocarbia. One hundred patients (69 females, 31 males), ASA Physical Status Class I, who were 20 to 30 years old, were studied.
