[Multicentric Screening of Local Antibiotic Resistance in Uncomplicated Urinary System Infections: 1850 Patients from 37 Centers].

This study was aimed to identify the most frequently observed pathogens in uncomplicated urinary tract infections from outpatient urinary isolates obtained across seven different geographical regions in Türkiye and to determine whether the antibiotic resistance rates of these pathogens differ significantly between these regions. The study included patients aged 18 to 65 years who were diagnosed with uncomplicated urinary tract infections and had positive urine cultures from March 2021 to August 2022, across 37 different centers in Türkiye. The participating centers were selected based on their use of the disk diffusion method, in line with the European Committee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (EUCAST) guidelines, to ensure standardization of urine culture data.

Comparison of the postoperative effects of the erector spinae plane block and local infiltration analgesia in patients operated with lumbotomy surgery incision: Randomized clinical study.

Background: Our aim was to observe the effects of local infiltration analgesia (LIA) or erector spinae plane block (ESPB) methods, which we applied preemptively in patients who were scheduled for surgery with a lumbotomy surgical incision and on intraoperative remifentanil consumption, and to compare the postoperative numerical rating scale (NRS), morphine demand, consumption, and pain degrees.

Methods: Sixty American Society of Anesthesiologists I to III patients aged 18 to 75 years who were due to be operated on with a lumbotomy surgical incision were included in the study. The present study was conducted via prospective, randomized controlled, double-blind trials.

Ribosome-binding protein-1 (RRBP1) expression in prostate carcinomas and its relationship with clinicopathological prognostic factors.

Introduction: Studies in recent years have shown that ribosome-binding protein-1 (RRBP1) is expressed at high rates in many cancers and that it may be a potential prognostic biomarker. The objective of the present study is to determine the RRBP1 expression level in prostatic carcinoma and neighboring non-neoplastic prostate tissue, the relationship between its expression level with prognostic factors, and the role of RRBP1 in the development of prostate cancer.

Materials And Methods: The study included 45 patients who were diagnosed with prostatic carcinoma and underwent radical prostatectomy in our center between the years 2010 and 2021.

Early Dynamic Risk Stratification Decreases Rate of Ablative and Adjuvant Radioiodine Use in ATA Low and Intermediate Risk Papillary Thyroid Cancer Patients.

Objectives: In differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC), radioiodine (RAI) therapy is most frequently employed for remnant ablation or as adjuvant therapy for the remaining disease. The application of RAI to patients classified as intermediate risk (InR) is still a matter of debate. The aim of this study is to analyze the effect of early postoperative risk assessment on RAI use on papillary thyroid cancer patients who are classified as low risk (LoR) or InR.

Single-dose fosfomycin could prevent infectious complications after retrograde intrarenal surgery: A prospective study.

Background: In this study, we aimed to show the protective effect of a single-dose Fosfomycin from infective complications against the standard usage of cephalosporine before retrograde intrarenal surgery.

Material: A total of 186 patients who underwent retrograde intrarenal surgery between 2020 and 2021, included the study. Patients were divided into two groups: group 1(n=49), patients who received an oral dose of 3g Fosfomycin tromethamine powder administered 4-6h before the operation; and group 2 (n=137): patients who received Cephalosporin 30min before surgery and an additional dose 6h after surgery.
