Background: Memory is influenced by epigenetic mechanisms that regulate gene expression. Histone acetyltransferases (HATs), and histone deacetylases (HDACs), are two competitive enzymes regulating histone acetylation. Histone acetylation is reduced in Alzheimer's disease (AD) brains, and evidence has shown a synergistic regulation of HDACs and HATs activities.

Background: There are no cures for Alzheimer's disease (AD), a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by elevation of beta-amyloid and tau proteins besides neuronal death and causing cognitive impairment. Phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE5) is a cyclic guanosine monophosphate-degrading enzyme involved in numerous biological pathways including those relevant to memory formation. PDE5 inhibition offers the potential to attenuate AD progression by acting at the downstream level of beta-amyloid and tau elevation.

Integrated Network Pharmacology and Transcriptomics Analysis to Elucidate the Mechanism of Huoxue Tongluo Qiwei Decoction in the Treatment of Erectile Dysfunction in Spontaneously Hypertensive Rats through Angii-Activated Pkcε Pathway.

Background And Aim: As a classical formula to invigorate blood circulation, Huoxue Tongluo Qiwei Decoction (HTQD) can effectively treat hypertensive erectile dysfunction (ED), but its exact mechanism of action is not yet clear. The goal of this research was to explore the potential mechanism of HTQD in improving hypertensive erectile dysfunction in rats through transcriptomics, network pharmacology, and associated animal experimentations.

Methods: The HTQD chemical constituents were screened using high-performance liquid chromatography- tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS).

Diagnostic value of Tc-99m-MIBI SPECT/CT in parathyroid carcinoma with lung metastasis: a case report and literature review.

Purpose: Parathyroid carcinoma (PC) is an extremely rare disease, typically presenting with marked elevations of serum calcium concentrations and associated with significantly increased parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels. Although it progresses slowly, approximately25% of PC patients have lung metastases. In the present study, we aimed to evaluate the role of technetium-99m methoxy isobutyl isonitrile (Tc-99m-MIBI; sestamibi) SPECT/CT scintigraphy in the preoperative localization of parathyroid adenomas, incidental metastases findings of PC, and ectopic parathyroid tissue.

Factors influencing preformed metal crowns and prefabricated zirconia crowns.

Backgound: Preformed metal crowns (PMCs) and zirconia crowns (ZCs) are commonly used for the treatment of primary molar caries. However, there have been no reports on factors influencing parental awareness, willingness to use these treatments, and the associated discomfort after crown placement in children.This study is the first to report factors influencing preformed crowns, providing a reference for the prevention and treatment of deciduous carious teeth.
