The introduction of cadaveric dissection of cerebral vasculature as a part of the neurosurgical training module would help the neurosurgical residents to understand the complex neuroanatomy of the brain vasculature and help gain confdence during the surgical procedure. To the best of our knowledge microsurgical anatomical studies of theMCA have not been done among the Northwest Indian population. Anatomical variations of MCA that have not been described before may come in as a surprise during any surgical intervention.

In this paper, the design of a double-band terahertz metamaterial filter with broadband characteristics using a single conducting layer is presented. The design uses a structured top metallic layer over a polyimide material. The proposed design has achieved broadband band-pass transmission characteristics at the resonances of 0.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to explore the microsurgical anatomy of the Middle Cerebral Artery (MCA) in the Northwest Indian population using cadaveric brains, as this specific anatomy has not been described before.
  • Researchers examined 15 cadaveric brains, analyzing 30 vessels in terms of diameter, length, and branching patterns using high magnification tools and compared the data to existing literature.
  • Findings showed the MCA's main trunk measurements and branching patterns were consistent with other studies, highlighting the need for this knowledge in neurosurgery, especially for residents and surgeons involved in treating MCA-related conditions.
