Background: Telesimulation has been shown to be effective for teaching simple surgical techniques; however, its usefulness for teaching advanced skills remains unclear. The aim of this randomized controlled trial was to investigate the impact of a telesimulation program on training for laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair.

Methods: Novice trainees were randomly assigned to the intervention group or control group using a permuted block design.

The bovine conceptus elongates near Day 16 of development and releases interferon-tau (IFNT), disrupting the endometrial luteolytic mechanism to sustain luteal P4 and pregnancy. Conceptus factors other than IFNT modify local endometrial activities to support pregnancy; however, the microenvironment is largely uncharacterized. We utilized a bovine conceptus-endometrial culture system to elucidate the microenvironment in the form of RNA and protein.

Aging is a risk factor for several chronic conditions, including intervertebral disc degeneration and associated back pain. Disc pathologies include loss of reticular-shaped nucleus pulposus cells, disorganization of annulus fibrosus lamellae, reduced disc height, and increased disc bulging. Sonic hedgehog, cytokeratin 19, and extracellular matrix proteins are markers of healthy disc.

The identification of peptides is a cornerstone of mass spectrometry-based proteomics. Spectral library-based algorithms are well-established methods to enhance the identification efficiency of peptides during database searches in proteomics. However, these algorithms are not specifically tailored for tandem mass tag (TMT)-based proteomics due to the lack of high-quality TMT spectral libraries.

Dysregulated Wnt signaling causes age-related characteristics such as oxidative stress, stem cell senescence, and abnormal bone homeostasis. Here we explored whether supplemental n-acetyl-l-cysteine (NAC) recovers the age-associated complications relative to osteoblastic Wntless (Wls) ablation and examined the possible mechanisms therein. For this work, we administered Col2.
