Background: The aim was to use the existing surveillance data sources of cancer in Morocco that could be used to better describe cancer mortality and incidence trends in Morocco.
Methods: National incidence data were derived from population-based cancer registries. Mortality data were collected from the international GLOBOCAN database.
The clinical validity of circulating tumor cell (CTC) count changes during chemotherapy in metastatic breast cancer patients has been validated, but its clinical utility remains to be demonstrated. We report here the non-randomized run-in phase of the CirCe01 trial which was designed to evaluate CTC changes and thresholds to other palliative prognostic scores and establish CTC thresholds to be used in the randomized part of the study. CTC count (CellSearch®) and other prognostic parameters (serum albumin level, lymphocyte level, LDH level, prognostic inflammatory and nutritional index (PINI) and Barbot's score) were assessed in 56 metastatic breast cancer patients before the first cycle of third line chemotherapy.

Two surveillance modalities, standard imaging-mammography ± ultrasound ('Mx')-or standard imaging with magnetic resonance imaging ('MRI'), provided according to the level of breast cancer risk, are compared on psychological distress.
Methods: A total of 1561 women were invited to complete the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), Impact of Event Scale (IES) Intrusion and Avoidance subscales and breast cancer-risk perception items at T0 (before examination) and T2 (1 to 3 months later) and the STAI-State anxiety at T1 (just after examination).
