: This study aimed to explore the impact of social anxiety on depression among high school students and examine the parallel mediating roles of social comparison and social support. : A total of 806 rural high school students were surveyed using the Short Mood and Feelings Questionnaire, the Social Phobia Inventory, the Chinese version of the Social Comparison Orientation Scale, and the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support. : Social anxiety and social comparison were significantly and positively correlated with depression, while social support exhibited a significant negative correlation with depression.

Mammalian spermatogenesis is a complex biological process that is regulated by multiple types of cells. The heterogeneity of these cells poses a challenge for analyzing different cell types at different developmental stages. To characterize the transcriptomic landscape of porcine spermatogenesis and identify potential marker genes for spermatogonia, an unbiased transcriptomic study of spermatogenesis in neonatal and sexually mature six-month-old Meihua pigs was performed using 10× Genomics single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq).

Background: The sterile alpha and HEAT/Armadillo motif (SARM) is the fifth Toll-like receptor (TLR) adaptor protein containing the Toll/interleukin-1 receptor (TIR) domain, which is highly enriched in the brain. Toxoplasma gondii (T. gondii) is an obligate intracellular parasitic protozoan that causes zoonotic toxoplasmosis, resulting in threats to human health, such as brain damage.

Cancer metastasis is the primary cause of cancer-related death, yet the forces that drive cancer cells through various steps and different routes to distinct target organs/tissues remain elusive. In this study, we applied a barcoding system based single-cell lineage tracing approach to study the metastasis rate and route of breast cancer cells and their interactions with the tumor microenvironment (TME) during metastasis. The results indicate that only a small fraction of cells, accounting for fewer than 3% of total barcodes, can intravasate from the primary site into the blood circulation, whereas more cells disseminate through the lymphatic system to different organs.

Incompatible electrode/electrolyte interface often leads to dendrite growth, parasitic reactions and corrosion, posing significant challenges to the application of Zn anodes. Herein, we introduce a biomimetic antifreeze protein localized gel electrolyte (ALGE) with multifunctional capabilities to address these issues by combining electrolyte modification with interface optimization. ALGE modifies the Zn2+ solvation structure and the hydrogen-bond network adjacent to zinc anode, effectively suppressing hydrogen evolution.
