- A study was conducted to compare the efficacy of a new 1 L polyethylene glycol plus ascorbate (1 L PEG+ASC) bowel prep against the traditional 4 L polyethylene glycol (4 L PEG) for colonoscopy cleansing.
- Results showed that 1 L PEG+ASC had a higher overall cleansing success rate (91.8%) compared to 4 L PEG (83.6%), especially for cleansing the right colon.
- Both preparations had similar rates of tolerability, safety, and adenoma detection, indicating that 1 L PEG+ASC is a more effective option without compromising patient comfort.
