Introduction: First-line treatment of persistent, recurrent, or metastatic (advanced) cervical cancer in patients who have a combined positive score (CPS) ≥ 1 with pembrolizumab + chemotherapy versus standard-of-care chemotherapy provides meaningful improvements in overall survival. We conducted a cost-effectiveness analysis from a US payer perspective. A societal perspective scenario was also considered, including productivity gains.

Background: Streptococcus pneumoniae is the most frequent causative pathogen of bacterial pneumonia in children worldwide. Bangladesh introduced the 10-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV10) in their national immunization program for infants in 2015. We assessed its potential coverage in under-fives with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) in the years before PCV10 was introduced.

Objectives: Evidence on the optimal frequency of laboratory testing during outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy (OPAT) is lacking. Therefore, we investigated how often and when laboratory abnormalities occur during OPAT and which factors are associated with these abnormalities.

Methods: We performed a multicenter cohort study in four Dutch hospitals among adult patients receiving OPAT and collected routinely obtained laboratory test results.

Background: Autologous fat transfer (AFT) is increasingly adopted as another total breast reconstruction option. The aim of this study was to investigate the efficacy of prolonged antibiotic treatment on the onset of surgical site infections (SSIs) in patients treated with AFT for total breast reconstruction.

Methods: This retrospective cohort study was conducted on patients who received AFT for total breast reconstruction, with antibiotic prophylaxis during their (multiple) AFT procedure(s) from 9 December 2020 to 10 October 2023.

Evidence for the use of peri- and post-operative antibiotic prophylaxis in autologous breast reconstruction: A systematic review.

Background: Autologous breast reconstruction has become standard of care, but there is no consensus on prophylactic antibiotic regimens for this surgical procedure. This review aims to present evidence on the best prophylactic antibiotic protocol to lower the risk of surgical site infections in autologous breast reconstructions.

Methods: The search was performed in PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library on 25th of January 2022.
