Spike frequency adaptation in primate lateral prefrontal cortex neurons results from interplay between intrinsic properties and circuit dynamics.

Cortical neurons in brain slices display intrinsic spike frequency adaptation (I-SFA) to constant current inputs, while extracellular recordings show extrinsic SFA (E-SFA) during sustained visual stimulation. Inferring how I-SFA contributes to E-SFA during behavior is challenging due to the isolated nature of slice recordings. To address this, we recorded macaque lateral prefrontal cortex (LPFC) neurons in vivo during a visually guided saccade task and in vitro in brain slices.

Serological Weak Expression of D Antigen: A Retrospective Study of Blood Donors and Patients at a Teaching Hospital in Eastern India.

Background and objective RhD variants show altered D antigen expression, affecting their serological detection. Proper identification is crucial due to potential anti-D antibody formation. This study aimed to retrospectively analyze the frequency and characteristics of D variant cases encountered during RhD typing in both blood donors and recipients and the transfusion implications.

Clinical and Laboratory Characteristics and Comorbidities in Asthma Endotypes in Children.

Objective: To estimate the proportion of eosinophilic and non-eosinophilic (NEA) endotypes in pediatric asthma, and to compare the clinical, and laboratory characterisitics, and different comorbidities between the two endotypes in the children.

Methods: Children aged 5 to 14 years of age with clinical and/or laboratory-confirmed asthma attending the pediatric outpatient department of a tertiary care hospital in Eastern India between October 1, 2023 and March 31, 2024, were included in this cross-sectional study. Complete hemogram, absolute eosinophil count (AEC), IgE, and pulmonary function tests were performed in all patients.
