Objectives: The Weight-Specific Adolescent Instrument for Economic Evaluation (WAItE) is a weight-specific patient reported outcome measure for use in adolescence, consisting of seven domains, each with five response levels. The objective of this study was to generate a UK value set for the WAItE, enabling the calculation of utility values.
Methods: An online Discrete Choice Experiment (DCE) completed by an adult sample representative to the working population of the UK was used to estimate the preferences for the five levels of the seven domains.
The effectiveness of poultry vaccination in preventing the transmission of highly pathogenic avian influenza viruses (AIVs) has been debated, and its impact on wild birds remains uncertain. Here, we reconstruct the movements of H5 subtype AIV lineages among vaccinated poultry, unvaccinated poultry, and wild birds, worldwide, from 1996 to 2023. We find that there is a time lag in viral transmission among different host populations and that movements from wild birds to unvaccinated poultry were more frequent than those from wild birds to vaccinated poultry.

Using the 2-year panels of the Household Component of the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey covering the 2002-2022 period and controlling for the business cycle and other factors, we find the share of nonelderly adults enrolled in individual insurance doubled under the ACA. The percentage of adults covered by individual insurance 1-23 months more than doubled, and the percentage with at least 24 months rose 80% in states that did not expand Medicaid.

Herein, the active coolant typically consists of weakly coupled paramagnetic ions, whose magnetic interaction strengths are comparable in energy to the relevant temperature regime of cooling. Such interactions depend strongly on inter-ion distances, fundamentally hindering the realization of dense coolants for sub-Kelvin refrigeration.
