Introduction: Parkinson's disease (PD) often leads to gait abnormalities, increasing the risk of falls and affecting daily life. Sensorimotor insoles aim to enhance foot sensitivity, potentially improving gait stability.
Methods: This study examined whether there are short-term effects of sensorimotor insoles on neural activation (measured by EEG), kinematic gait parameters (speed, cadence, step length, and step-length variability), and subjective gait stability in PD patients.
Background: Overuse of sedation and anesthesia causes delays in gastrojejunostomy tube (GJ) exchanges, increased risk of complications, unnecessary use of resources, preventable hospital admissions, and an adverse impact on patient and family experience. Our hospital was over-utilizing sedation and anesthesia, and we aimed to decrease this use from 78% to 20% within two years.
Methods: An interdisciplinary quality improvement team comprehensively evaluated current processes for GJ tube exchanges through a retrospective chart review for baseline data with prospective time series analysis after improvement implementation.
Cancer treatment with immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) often induces immune-related adverse events (irAEs). We hypothesized that proteins coexpressed in tumors and normal cells could be antigenic targets in irAEs and herein described DITAS (discovery of tumor-associated self-antigens) for their identification. DITAS computed transcriptional similarity between lung tumors and healthy lung tissue based on single-sample gene set enrichment analysis.

In the wide field of tumor treatment, thermal ablation procedures are very promising. Alternating magnetic fields are used to transfer the energy from outside the patient to the tumor area located anywhere in the body. This energy is converted to heat by implanted devices located in the tumor area.
