Background: Wild-type transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis (ATTRwt) is an infiltrative disease leading to restrictive cardiomyopathy. We aimed to characterise exercise capacity in ATTRwt and to identify predictors of cardiopulmonary fitness, focusing on echocardiographic and clinical parameters.
Methods: We studied 110 ATTRwt patients from a prospective single-centre registry (2020-2024) by cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET).
: Aortic pulse wave velocity (aPWV) is a well-established surrogate marker of arterial stiffness. The Antares algorithm offers a method for determining aPWV from oscillometric blood pressure waveforms without requiring additional inputs. This prospective study aimed to evaluate the association and prognostic value of aPWV, determined by Antares, in predicting major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE).

Automating the update of a unified follow-up date in the electronic health record (EHR) may increase the number of patients with guideline-concordant CRC follow-up screening.
Methods: Prospective pre-post design study of an automated rules engine-based tool using colonoscopy pathology results to automate updates to documented CRC screening due dates was performed as an operational initiative, deployed enterprise-wide May 2023.
It is challenging to deliver therapeutics in the oral environment due to the wet surfaces, the nature of the mucosa and the potential for saliva washout. In this study, the development of a mucoadhesive dimethicone-based oral carrier system for adhesion to the hard tissue and mucosa in the mouth was examined. This study reports the viscosity and mucoadhesion of dimethicone based polymer blends.
