Parasitoid wasps exert strong selective pressure on their hosts, driving the evolution of diverse defense strategies. Drosophila, a widely studied model organism, hosts a wide range of parasites, including parasitoid wasps, and has evolved immune and behavioral mechanisms to mitigate the risk of parasitization. These defenses range from avoidance and evasion to post-infection immune responses, such as melanotic encapsulation.

Twin pregnancies consisting of one normal fetus and one complete mole are very rare. The main concerning risks associated with the continuation of such pregnancy are hyperthyroidism, theca lutein cysts, preeclampsia, and the development of GTD (gestational trophoblastic disease) spectrum (neoplasia) in the mother, which is due to high human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) values, and intrauterine death and prematurity in the coexistent normal fetus. We report the successful outcome of conservative management in a healthy mother and baby.

The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), causes acute coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) that has emerged on a pandemic level. Coronaviruses are well-known to have a negative impact on the lungs and cardiovascular system. SARS-CoV-2 induces a cytokine storm that primarily targets the lungs, causing widespread clinical disorders, including COVID-19.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is commonly used in healthcare for its ability to generate diverse tissue contrasts without ionizing radiation. However, this flexibility complicates downstream analysis, as computational tools are often tailored to specific MRI types and lack generalizability across the full spectrum of scans used in healthcare. Here, we introduce a versatile framework for the development and validation of pan-contrast AI models that can exhaustively cater to the full spectrum of scans achievable with MRI, enabling model deployment across scanner models, scan types, and age groups.

This systematic review evaluates the impact of trauma care and emergency preparedness training programs on prehospital primary survey effectiveness. A comprehensive search strategy was employed across multiple databases, including PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, and the Cumulated Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), focusing on studies involving healthcare professionals such as paramedics, nurses, and emergency medical technicians (EMTs). The review included randomized controlled trials (RCTs), clinical trials, and cohort studies that assessed various training modalities like virtual reality (VR) simulations, case-based learning (CBL), and hands-on workshops.
