This article presents data concerning the natural medicinal resources in the southern part of the Tyumen region with special reference to the mineral water resources. The relevance of the work is determined by the presence of the huge deposits of medicinal sodium chloride and iodine-bromine thermal waters with the composition highly enriched in the trace elements suitable for the internal and external use and by the necessity of the assessment of their therapeutic value. The characteristics of the mineral waters of special interest are presented with the major emphasis placed on the chemical composition of sodium chloride waters used by the authors in the routine medical practice.

Methods for the calculation of the acousto-optic (AO) transfer functions forming as a result of superposition of two AO fields with similar and orthogonal light polarizations are proposed. Specific calculations are made on the basis of the parameters widely used in practice with uni-axial gyrotropic crystal paratellurite. It is revealed that the resulting field is generally very inhomogeneous but contains domains with two-dimensional behavior properties.

A capacitive sensor was proposed and tested for the monitoring and control of a freeze drying process of a vaccine against the Newcastle disease of birds. The residual moisture of the vaccine was measured by the thermogravimetric method. The vaccine activity was determined by titration in chicken embryos.

A nanoscale metal-semiconductor-metal photodetector with a 40 nm-thick GaAs absorbing layer has been studied numerically and experimentally. A gold nanowire array is the top mirror of a Fabry-Perot cavity and forms interdigitated Schottky contacts. Nearly perfect absorption is achieved in TE polarization.

The paper presents data on multiprogram microprocess neuromyostimulators of the series Omnistim wherein the time course of changes in the parameters of action is determined by the pattern of changes in the lability of stimulated structures, such as skeletal muscles, smooth muscle organs, sensory conductors, etc. A great deal of programmes (over 100) open up a wide field uses for these stimulators and provide their high efficiency.
