Active versus expectant management for premature rupture of membranes at term: A randomized, controlled study.

Objective: To compare the effects on feto-maternal outcomes of expectant versus active management for premature rupture of membranes (PROM) at term.

Methods: This was a prospective randomized (1:1) controlled study involving 86 pregnant-women who received either expectant management (n = 43) or active management with misoprostol (n = 43) for PROM at term. Primary outcome was route of delivery.

Efficacy and safety of Mojeaga remedy in combination with conventional oral iron therapy for correcting anemia in obstetric population: A phase II randomized pilot clinical trial.

Background: To our knowledge, there is no prior randomized trial on the efficacy of Mojeaga remedy (a special blend of Alchornea cordifolia, Pennisetum glaucum and Sorghum bicolor extracts) when co-administered with standard-of-care for correction of anemia in obstetrics practice. This study determined the efficacy, safety and tolerability of Mojeaga as adjunct to conventional oral iron therapy for correction of anemia in obstetric population.

This cross-sectional study of antenatal clinic attendees aimed to determine the proportions of pregnant women that consider different alcoholic beverages safe for their babies; and the proportions that took them in the index pregnancy. Five hundred and six women completed the questionnaires. Mean age was 30.

Mindfulness-based arts interventions for cancer care: A systematic review of the effects on wellbeing and fatigue.

Objective: Upon receiving a cancer diagnosis, life irrevocably changes and complex experiences of emotional distress often occur. There is a growing interest in mindfulness-based arts interventions (MBAIs) to ameliorate the distress many patients experience. Our review objective was to synthesize the evidence on the effectiveness of MBAIs on psychological wellbeing and fatigue.

Community-associated MRSA among Indigenous children in remote settings: Best practices for NPs.

Community-associated methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (CA-MRSA) is a major public health concern for Indigenous pediatric populations worldwide. It is the leading cause of skin and soft tissue infections in this demographic. This article reviews the literature and presents an evidence-based algorithm for the assessment and management of CA-MRSA among Indigenous children in remote settings.
