Kaposiform hemangioendothelioma with fatal income: Kasabach-Merritt phenomenon and hypercalcemia.

Kaposiform hemangioendothelioma is a rare, borderline tumor that typically occurs during early childhood. Kasabach-Merritt phenomenon is a complication characterized by a consumptive coagulopathy resulting from the localized intravascular coagulation. Hypercalcemia generation is a rare association that was related in our case to parathyroid hormone-related protein produced by this angioma.

Antineoplastic effects of targeting CCR5 and its therapeutic potential for colorectal cancer liver metastasis.

Purpose: Liver metastasis is observed in up to 50% of colorectal cancer (CRC) patients. Available treatment options are limited and disease recurrence is often. Chemokine receptor 5 (CCR5) has attracted attention as novel therapeutic target for treating cancers.

Status of the bioactive phytoceuticals during deep-fat frying of snack food using -coconut oil.

The present study was carried out to study the physico-chemical changes that take place in both product and oil during the deep fat frying of a traditional savoury snack 'kodubale', at 120-160 °C for 120-600 s using coconut oil (CO) and nutra-coconut oil (NCO). Further, kinetic studies on moisture loss, oil uptake, color and degradation of β-carotene, total polyphenol content and antioxidant activity for kodubale was carried out during frying as a function of temperature and time. The study showed that the kinetic coefficients for above parameters increased with temperature and time and the data obtained were well fitted with first order kinetic model.

Quality, antioxidant activity and composition of Indian black teas.

A comparative study was undertaken to determine the difference in quality, antioxidant activity, and mineral content of northern and southern Indian tea varieties. The results showed that the antioxidant activity, theaflavin and thearubigin content, color particle size and total soluble solids influence the tea leaf and tea dust. Assam leaf showed higher values for all the physico-chemical properties followed by Darjeeling leaf.

In Errachidia province, the incidence of cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) has increased over the past decade and it was higher in 2010 (860.34 per 100,000 inhabitants), with 3445 cases. The number of cases declined sharply and decreased from 3445 cases in 2010 to 8 cases in 2014 following the control action plan interventions.
