A comprehensive modeling framework for the thermoforming of polymer matrix woven laminate composite was developed. Two numerical indicators, the slip path length and traction magnitude, have been identified to be positively correlated to matrix smearing and wrinkling defects. The material model has been calibrated with picture-frame experimental results, and the prediction accuracy for intra-ply shear and thickness distribution was examined with measurements of the physically formed parts.

Unique case of colovesical fistula in a renal allograft recipient.

Colovesical fistula is commonly suspected in cases of diverticular disease, malignancy, trauma, iatrogenic injury or radiotherapy. In a case of allogenic live related transplant, this is rarely expected, especially after 20 years. The presence of gas in the bladder in the absence of history of instrumentation of urinary tract should prompt us to evaluate for colovesical fistula.

Clinical Study of a New Modified Early Warning Scoring System for Rapidly Evaluating Shock in Adults.

Background: Shock is one of the most common severe syndromes requiring emergency treatment. Acute myocardial infarction guidelines, the surviving sepsis campaign, and low blood volume resuscitation guidelines indicate the prioritization of early identification of shock. APACHE II (Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II), SOFA (Sequential Organ Failure Assessment), and MEWS (Modified Early Warning System) scores are used to predict mortality in ICU (intensive care unit) patients.
