In this study, we synthesized γ-phenyl-β,γ-unsaturated ketones in situ from acetophenones and phenylacetylenes under Trofimov's conditions using KOBu in a dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) solvent. The obtained ketones reacted with α,β-unsaturated carbonyls in a one-pot manner, forming tri- or diarylated benzophenones. The present reaction proceeded efficiently by one-pot manipulation with a suitable carboxylic acid.

We report a case of subarachnoid hemorrhage(SAH)with multiple cerebral aneurysms, in which magnetic resonance vessel wall imaging(MR-VWI)revealed the rupture site. A 68-year-old woman presented with SAH. Computed tomography(CT)showed diffuse SAH(Fisher group 3).

Purpose: Wall enhancement of saccular cerebral aneurysms has not been researched sufficiently. Our purpose of this study was to investigate the incidence of aneurysmal wall enhancement by the three-dimensional turbo spin-echo sequence with motion-sensitized driven equilibrium (MSDE-3D-TSE) imaging after gadolinium injection.

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the pre- and postcontrast MSDE-3D-TSE images of 117 consecutive patients with intracranial aneurysms from September 2011 to July 2013.

A Tim-3 ligand, galectin-9 (Gal-9), modulates various functions of innate and adaptive immune responses. In this study, we demonstrate that Gal-9 prolongs the survival of Meth-A tumor-bearing mice in a dose- and time-dependent manner. Although Gal-9 did not prolong the survival of tumor-bearing nude mice, transfer of naive spleen cells restored a prolonged Gal-9-induced survival in nude mice, indicating possible involvement of T cell-mediated immune responses in Gal-9-mediated antitumor activity.
