This study explores the design of substituted tetrahydroquinoline (THQ) derivatives and their synthesis as possible inhibitors of mTOR inhibitors for targeted cancer therapy. Inspired by the structural characteristics of known mTOR inhibitors, eight novel derivatives were synthesized, characterized using mass spectroscopy, H, and C NMR, and evaluated for anticancer activity. Computational studies, including molecular docking and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, highlighted the derivative's strong binding interaction and stability within the mTOR active site.

Background: Maternal smoking and foetal exposure to nicotine and other harmful chemicals in utero remains a serious public health issue with little knowledge about the underlying genetics and consequences of maternal smoking in ageing individuals. Here, we investigated the epidemiology and genomic architecture of maternal smoking in a middle-aged population and compare the results to effects observed in the developing foetus.

Methods: In the current project, we included 351,562 participants from the UK Biobank (UKB) and estimated exposure to maternal smoking status during pregnancy through self-reporting from the UKB participants about the mother's smoking status around their birth.

Introduction: Canine otitis externa (OE) is a frequently-diagnosed condition in veterinary practices worldwide. is commonly associated with chronic and recalcitrant canine OE, but studies with detailed genomic and phenotypic characterisation of clinical isolates are lacking.

Methods: canine OE isolates ( = 253) were collected from different geographical locations in Europe and characterised with respect to antimicrobial resistance and biofilm formation.

Understanding the drying mechanisms, crystallization, and creep dynamics in salt solutions relies on a thorough understanding of the evaporation kinetics of individual droplets. These processes are of significant interest due to their implications in fields such as astrochemistry, environmental science, and material science. However, under nonequilibrium conditions like reduced pressure (<1 atm) and microgravity (<1), they remain poorly understood, creating a pressing need for studies addressing these gaps.

Objective: To invent a novel method for selective fetal reduction in monochorionic (MC) twin using cool-tip radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and analysis the perinatal outcome.

Material And Methods: Complicated MC twins including twin-to twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS), selective fetal growth restriction (sFGR) and twin reverse arterial perfusion sequence (TRAP) were enrolled from 2020 to 2024. All cases were indicated for selective fetal reduction due to expected poor outcome.
