A Community-Based Cross-Sectional Study on Awareness and Acceptance of Homosexuality in Coimbatore.

Introduction: Acceptance of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) community among the public varies greatly depending on cultural and social factors. The present study estimated homosexuality acceptance and the factors influencing its recognition among the general population in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India.

Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed among people residing in urban and rural field practice areas of a tertiary care hospital in Coimbatore.

Effects of street tree configuration and placement on roadside thermal environment within a tropical urban canyon.

The Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect increases surface and air temperatures, affecting urban health and well-being. A well-known UHI mitigation measure is the increased roadside tree vegetation facilitating evapotranspiration and shade. In its implementation, the identification of thermally optimal street tree configurations and a quantitative assessment of how various street tree configurations impact the roadside thermal environment were deemed essential and were chosen as the main aims of the study.

The rapid development in industrialization and urbanization coupled with an ever-increasing world population has caused a tremendous increase in contamination of water resources globally. Synthetic dyes have emerged as a major contributor to environmental pollution due to their release in large quantities into the environment, especially owing to their high demand in textile, cosmetics, clothing, food, paper, rubber, printing, and plastic industries. Photocatalytic treatment technology has gained immense research attention for dye contaminated wastewater treatment due to its environment-friendliness, ability to completely degrade dye molecules using light irradiation, high efficiency, and no generation of secondary waste.

Market of tissue engineering in Canada from 2011 to 2020.

Tissue engineering aims to produce tissue/organ substitutes to improve upon current treatment approaches, thus providing a permanent solution to damaged tissues/organs. This project aimed to perform a market analysis for understanding and promoting the development and commercialization of tissue engineering in Canada. We searched companies that were established between October 2011 and July 2020 via publicly available information and for these companies, we collected and analyzed the corporate level information, including revenues, and number of employees and founder information.
