Background: Uganda faces a significant dual challenge with tuberculosis (TB), ranking among these countries most affected by the disease worldwide. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends isoniazid preventive therapy (IPT) for managing latent TB. However, the adherence to IPT in military settings remains under-explored in Uganda.

Toward improving anal health care among GBMSM in Kenya: Lessons from a patient's illness, treatment and recovery journey.

We aimed to illuminate the challenges of treating anal diseases among gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM) in a homophobic climate amid resource constraints. Building on a long-term Kenyan-Canadian collaboration, an anal healthcare intervention study, known as the WEMAH Project, was initiated in January 2022. The initial collaborative work strengthened existing anal health services provided at a community-based clinic serving GBMSM in Nairobi.

Quantum state teleportation is commonly used in designs for large-scale quantum computers. Using Quantinuum's H2 trapped-ion quantum processor, we demonstrate fault-tolerant state teleportation circuits for a quantum error correction code-specifically the Steane code. The circuits use up to 30 qubits at the physical level and employ real-time quantum error correction.

toxicology research has accelerated with the use of , computational approaches and human tissue systems, facilitating major improvements evaluating the safety and health risks of novel consumer products. Innovation in molecular and cellular biology has shifted testing paradigms, with less reliance on low-throughput animal data and greater use of medium- and high-throughput cellular screening approaches. These new approach methodologies (NAMs) are being implemented in other industry sectors for chemical testing, screening candidate drugs and prototype consumer products, driven by the need for reliable, human-relevant approaches.
