MST2 (STK3) is a major upstream kinase in the Hippo signalling pathway, an evolutionary conserved pathway in regulation of organ size, self-renewal and tissue homeostasis. We introduce two water-soluble excited state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) based fluorescent turn-on probes responding to inorganic polyphosphates. These ESIPT probes enable specific detection of short-chain inorganic polyphosphates over a range of different condensed phosphates. The probes are weakly emissive in their off-state due to the blocking of ESIPT by Cu coordination.

Chlorophylls are photoactive molecular building blocks essential to most photosynthetic systems. They have comparatively simple optical spectra defined by states with near-orthogonal transition dipole moments, referred to as B and B in the blue/green spectral region, and Q and Q in the red. Underlying these spectra is a surprisingly complex electronic structure, where strong electronic-vibrational interactions are crucial to the description of state characters.

Introduction: Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a rapidly progressive neurodegenerative disease with no known cure, limited treatment options with minimal benefits, and significant unmet need for disease modifying therapies.

Aims: This study investigated memantine's impact on ALS progression, with an additional focus on the effects of memantine on cognitive and behavioral changes associated with the disease.

This review traces the evolution of BRCA1/2 research over the past 30 years, highlighting key discoveries in the field and their contributions to tumor development. Additionally, we discuss current preventive measures for mutation carriers and targeted treatment options based on the concept of synthetic lethality.
