Background: Vocal biomarkers are emerging as potentially meaningful health indicators in multiple domains, including cognition. Because voice-enabled devices are widespread, automated vocal analysis could become a useful modality for early detection and monitoring of cognitive impairment. To assess the efficacy of vocal biomarkers in identifying cognitive impairment we evaluated prosodic speech features on vocal tasks in a research cohort from Kerala, India, and a referral cohort from the Montefiore-Einstein Center for the Aging Brain in the Bronx, NY.

Background: E2814 is a humanized monoclonal antibody that recognizes the microtubule-binding region (MTBR) of tau, a region of the protein essential for filament formation and propagation in neurodegenerative diseases. Epitope mapping showed that E2814 binds to a specific sequence motif HVPGG in the MTBR. To elucidate the atomic interactions of E2814-tau binding, we performed X-ray crystallography studies with E2814 and various tau peptides containing the HVPGG motif.

There are no published guidelines regarding remotely training research assistants (RAs) to conduct neuropsychological tests. With technological advances allowing for increased international collaboration within the medical and research communities, challenges often arise from such partnerships, including linguistic, cultural, and physical barriers. A notable challenge for supervising neuropsychologists in international projects is the physical distance from RAs, sites, and materials, making training/supervision of RAs and monitoring test data quite challenging.

Background: Same-day discharge (SDD) has been adopted for interventional cardiology procedures, however, data on patient experience are scarce.

Aims: To investigate patient-reported experience after various SDD electrophysiology procedures.

Methods: Consecutive patients undergoing electrophysiology procedures, who fulfilled pre-defined eligibility criteria for SDD, completed the questionnaire before discharge.

Background: Ticks are prominent vectors of numerous pathogens that adversely affect human and animal health. Monitoring tick population dynamics is key in developing ideal tick-borne disease surveillance systems and critical vector control programmes. This study aimed to conduct the morphological and molecular characterization of ticks infesting domesticated goats in Kerala, India.
