Comparing complications of urethral stricture across various ages: a retrospective analysis of findings from retrograde urethrogram and voiding cysto-urethrogram over 10 years.

Objective: To determine the rate and the distribution of the structural defects in the urinary bladder complicating urethral stricture in men, and to compare the complications observed in the younger patients to those observed in the older patients.

Methods: Retrospectively, case files of patients diagnosed of urethral stricture using retrograde urethrogram (RUG) and voiding cysto-urethrogram (VCUG) from February 2009 to August 2018 were analyzed. Stricture characteristics were outlined.

Sonographic assessment of the normal limits of the spleen in healthy school children in South-East Nigeria.

Background/objective: Ultrasonogrphy is a good modality for the detection of splenomegaly even when it is not clinically palpable. The objective of this study was to establish the normal values of splenic length in healthy school children in South-East, Nigeria and to correlate them with body indices.

Materials And Methods: This is a cross-sectional prospective study of 1315 children (633 boys and 682 girls) between the ages of 5 and 17 years.

Utility and effectiveness of orbito-ocular B-scan ultrasonography in an African developing country.

Background: Diagnostic orbito-ocular ultrasonography is a safe, affordable, and cost-effective procedure that is especially suited for resource-poor developing countries. Periodic evaluation of its utility and effectiveness is important in the light of phenomenal advances in medical imaging.

Childhood intussusception: the implications of delayed presentation.

Background: In some developing countries, many children with intussusception are reported to present late for definitive therapy. This study determines the effect of delayed presentation on clinical parameters, management, and outcome of childhood intussusception in southeast Nigeria.
