Background: The COVID-19 pandemic greatly challenged health systems worldwide. The adoption and application of mHealth technology emerged as a critical response. However, the permanent implementation and use of such technology faces several barriers, which vary by each country's innovation level and specific health policies.

Purpose: A substantial proportion of children with high risk Neuroblastoma die within the first 5 years post-diagnosis despite the complex treatment applied. In the recent years, tumor environment has been revealed as key factor for cancer treatment efficacy. In this sense, non-tumorigenic Neural Crest progenitor cells from high risk patients, have been described as part of Neuroblastoma stroma, promoting tumor growth and contributing to mesenchyme formation.

Purpose: Natural killer (NK) cells are traditionally identified by flow cytometry using a combination of markers (CD16/CD56/CD3), because a specific NK-cell marker is still missing. Here we investigated the utility of CD314, CD335 and NKp80, compared to CD16/CD56/CD3, for more robust identification of NK-cells in human blood, for diagnostic purposes.

Methods: A total of 156 peripheral blood (PB) samples collected from healthy donors (HD) and patients with diseases frequently associated with loss/downregulation of classical NK-cell markers were immunophenotyped following EuroFlow protocols, aimed at comparing the staining profile of total blood NK-cells for CD314, CD335 and NKp80, and the performance of distinct marker combinations for their accurate identification.

Material Extrusion (MEX) currently stands as the most widespread Additive Manufacturing (AM) process, but part quality deficiencies remain a barrier to its generalized industrial adoption. Quality control in MEX is a complex task as extrusion performance impacts the consistency of mechanical properties and the surface finish, dimensional accuracy, and geometric precision of manufactured parts. Recognizing the need for early-stage process monitoring, this study explores the potential of integrating Laser Triangulation Sensors (LTS) into MEX/P manufacturing equipment for layer-wise 3D inspections.

Despite the considerable advances in the last years, the health information systems for health surveillance still need to overcome some critical issues so that epidemic detection can be performed in real time. For instance, despite the efforts of the Brazilian Ministry of Health (MoH) to make COVID-19 data available during the pandemic, delays due to data entry and data availability posed an additional threat to disease monitoring. Here, we propose a complementary approach by using electronic medical records (EMRs) data collected in real time to generate a system to enable insights from the local health surveillance system personnel.
