Protein kinase adenosine monophosphate-activated non-catalytic subunit gamma 2 (PRKAG2) cardiac syndrome is a rare genetic disorder characterized by hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and heart rhythm disturbances caused by mutations in the gene. Reports on PRKAG2 cardiac syndrome associated with refractory chylous effusion are extremely limited. Here, we present a neonatal case involving severe hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy accompanied by chylous ascites and lymphatic malformations.

Introduction: This is a case of a 32-year-old woman who developed postpartum depression (PPD). She became anxious and depressive about caring for her child, and the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) test showed a score of 9 at 2 weeks after delivery, and at 7 months postpartum, she presented with major melancholic depression followed by mild cognitive decline without any neurological symptoms except cluttering speech.

Case Presentation: Cerebral magnetic resonance imaging showed confluent fluid-attenuated inversion recovery hyperintensities in the periventricular and frontal deep white matter, with multiple spotty calcifications in the frontal white matter by cerebral CT.

Unlabelled: Thoracic deformity affects circulatory dynamics, and postural changes may affect hemodynamics. We report on the case of a 10-year-old girl with straight back syndrome (SBS) and funnel chest in which a right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT) obstruction was demonstrated by dynamic echocardiography. The patient occasionally experienced chest discomfort in the standing and sitting positions.

Background: Although furosemide is used during cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibitor therapy for patent ductus arteriosus (PDA), there are concerns regarding increased ductal closure failure and acute renal failure (ARF). This systematic review explores the effects of furosemide during COX inhibitor therapy.

Methods: We searched MEDLINE, Embase, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, and Igaku Chuo Zasshi databases for randomized clinical trials that assessed furosemide during COX inhibitor therapy for PDA in preterm infants.

Three-dimensional echocardiography (3DE) provides better interobserver agreement than conventional methods. However, more evidence of whether there is good agreement between novice and experienced observers, especially in pediatric 3DE analysis, is required. We conducted 3DE analysis training in novice observers and investigated the agreement when analyzing 3DE images between novice and experienced observers.
