Article Synopsis
  • * Researchers discovered that senescent cells form unique nuclear structures called senescence-associated nuclear proteasome foci (SANPs) that require both ubiquitination and proteasome activity to form.
  • * Reducing RAD23B, a protein involved in SANP formation, boosts mitochondrial activity and increases reactive oxygen species levels without changing other signs of senescence, highlighting SANPs' significance in aging cells.

It is well known that Diptera and Lepidoptera can recognize tastes through their legs, which allows them to select suitable hosts. In Coleoptera, the largest insect order, however, the role of the legs in taste recognition to aid in host selection is unclear. In the present study, we investigated taste recognition through the legs of Chrysomelidae, Coleoptera.

The serum fructosamine level is influenced by the serum protein level. Therefore, we investigated the relationship between serum fructosamine levels and serum total protein and albumin levels measured simultaneously in non-diabetic and diabetic patients. Significant positive correlations were found between them.
