Exploring offshore particle motion soundscapes.

Fishes and aquatic invertebrates utilize acoustic particle motion for hearing, and some additionally detect sound pressure. Yet, few underwater soundscapes studies report particle motion, which is often assumed to scale predictably with pressure in offshore habitats. Background: Co-creation methods are increasingly being used in the research and development of technologies that support older adults living with dementia and their care partners to live well. Use of collaborative methods to engage with the dementia community helps to ensure that research processes and end solutions are sensitively designed, reflective of needs and values, and responsive to priorities. Engagement also has proximal benefits for older adults: Being involved in purposeful activity has been shown to positively impact health and wellbeing outcomes.

A year in the molecular life sciences: 2024 highlights.

The FEBS Journal editorial team reviews the articles we published in 2024 and reflects on the year's highlights. The articles summarised here broadly cluster in three themes-molecular and cell biology across species, immunology, and cutting-edge methods-whilst still showcasing the diversity of the scientific fields the journal covers. Neither Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate nor Platelet-Rich Plasma Improves Patient-Reported Outcomes After Surgical Management of Acetabular Labral Tears; However, Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate May Be Effective for Moderate Cartilage Damage: A Systematic Review.

Purpose: To (1) systematically assess which orthobiologic agents are being used in acetabular labral repairs and (2) report all available outcomes for patients undergoing operative management for labral repairs with orthobiologic agents.

Methods: The PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane databases were queried in August 2023. Articles were included if they used an orthobiologic agent during hip arthroscopy for acetabular labral repair and reported functional outcomes.
