Incidence of bleeding during and after two non-surgical periodontal therapy schemes in patients with recent acute coronary syndrome on dual antiplatelet therapy: A pilot study.

Background: This study aimed to compare the incidence of bleeding using two periodontal treatment protocols in patients with recent Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS).

Material And Methods: This is an interim analysis of a double-blind controlled clinical trial evaluating two periodontal treatment schemes in patients with recent ACS treated with different dual antiplatelet regimens: Clopidogrel+ASA, Prasugrel+ASA and Ticagrelor+ASA. After randomisation six patients (22 quadrants) were treated with Scheme A (scaling and root planning-SRP) and six patients (21 quadrants) with Scheme B (ultrasonic scaling-US).

Increased incidence of rheumatoid arthritis after COVID-19.

An increase in the incidence of inflammatory arthritis after COVID-19 has been reported. Since many diseases exhibit population-specific causal effect sizes, we aimed to evaluate the incidence trends of inflammatory arthritis, including rheumatoid arthritis (RA), after COVID-19 in a large admixed Colombian population. Data analysis for this retrospective, population-based cohort study was carried out using the COOSALUD EPS registry.

Objective: This study aims to characterize the external exposome (ambient and indoor exposures) and its contribution to clinical respiratory and early biological effects in children.

Virome definition in cerebrospinal fluid of patients with neurological complications after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

Background: Neurological complications (NC) in allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) recipients lead to long-term sequelae and result in significant morbidity and mortality. Since risk factors for NC include viral infection or reactivation, virome inspection after HSCT might be helpful to the clinical management of patients after HSCT.

Objectives And Study Design: In this study we investigated whether any viruses are found in association with NC after HSCT.
