Traumatic urethral fistula in a patient with burns.

We report an unusual cause of urethral fistula in a patient with burns. Although such an occurrence is rare, the edematous perineum in patients with burn injuries should be managed carefully to prevent a tear at the penoscrotal junction.

Incidence of urethral involvement in female bladder cancer: an anatomic pathologic study.

Objectives: To evaluate risk factors for urethral involvement in female patients undergoing cystectomy for bladder cancer and to define potential candidates for orthotopic continent urinary diversion.

Methods: From 1990 to 1996, 43 female patients underwent cystectomy for primary bladder malignancy. Bladder mapping studies were performed with special attention to tumor location, multifocality, pathologic stage and grade, presence of carcinoma in situ (CIS), and the relationship of these factors to urethral involvement.

Outcome analysis of penile implant surgery after external beam radiation for prostate cancer.

Purpose: We evaluated the success and possible complication rates of penile implant surgery in patients who underwent external beam radiation therapy for prostate cancer.

Materials And Methods: We reviewed the charts of 43 patients who underwent penile implant surgery after radiation therapy for prostate cancer. The type, dose and volume of radiation were assessed.
