Low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 1 (LRP1) is a multifunctional endocytic receptor whose dysfunction is linked to developmental dysplasia of the hip, osteoporosis and osteoarthritis. Our work addresses the critical question of how these skeletal pathologies emerge. Here, we show the abundant expression of LRP1 in skeletal progenitor cells at mouse embryonic stage E10.

Image processing and analysis are two significant areas that are highly important for interpreting enormous amounts of data obtained from microscopy-based experiments. Several image analysis tools exist for the general detection of fundamental cellular processes, but tools to detect highly distinct cellular functions are few. One such process is exocytosis, which involves the release of vesicular content out of the cell.

We present the results of a search for the b→dℓ^{+}ℓ^{-} flavor-changing neutral-current rare decays B^{+,0}→(η,ω,π^{+,0},ρ^{+,0})e^{+}e^{-} and B^{+,0}→(η,ω,π^{0},ρ^{+})μ^{+}μ^{-} using a 711  fb^{-1} data sample that contains 772×10^{6}  BB[over ¯] events. The data were collected at the ϒ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e^{+}e^{-} collider. We find no evidence for signal and set upper limits on branching fractions at the 90% confidence level in the range (3.

Hemorrhagic septicemia (HS) is a highly contagious and fatal disease of cattle and buffaloes caused by . Both conventional and molecular methods are applied in parallel for rapid diagnosis of HS outbreaks and the periodical surveillance strategy to identify risk areas for HS is ignored. The current cross-sectional study aimed to estimate sero-prevalence and associated risk factors for HS in cattle and buffaloes in non-vaccinated regions of two Indian states.

Despite the limited success of copper-catalyzed alkylations, (NNS)CuCl proved to be an effective catalyst for the sp C-H alkylation of fluorene with alcohols. Various primary alcohols and challenging secondary alcohols were successfully used. The practical applicability of the method was effectively tested with several post-functionalization reactions.
