The Z-scan technique is a nonlinear optical method that has found applications in characterizing various materials, particularly those exhibiting nonlinear optical response (NLOR). This study applies the continuous wave (CW) Z-scan technique to examine the NLOR in terms of the nonlinear optical phase shifts(ΔΦ0) exhibited by the ccfDNA extracted from blood plasma samples collected from a group constituting 30 cancer-diagnosed patients and another group constituting 30 non-diagnosed individuals. The cancer group exhibited significantly higherΔΦ0versus incident power slopes compared to the non-cancer group (0.

We report the sequencing of three severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) genomes from Bangladesh. We have identified a unique mutation (NSP2_V480I) in one of the sequenced genomes (isolate hCoV-19/Bangladesh/BCSIR-NILMRC-006/2020) compared to the sequences available in the Global Initiative on Sharing All Influenza Data (GISAID) database. The data from this analysis will contribute to advancing our understanding of the epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2 in Bangladesh as well as worldwide at the molecular level and will identify potential new targets for interventions.

Controversy regarding the nosological position of the syndrome of ophthalmoplegia, ataxia and areflexia (Miller Fisher syndrome) exists. The oculomotor dysfunction was presumed to represent an unusually symmetrical peripheral cranial nerve dysfunction. To investigate the neuro-ophthalmic manifestations in this rare syndrome we reviewed 109 reports describing 243 cases.
