We study resonance redistribution mechanisms inside a hot vapor cell. This is achieved by pumping cesium atoms on the 6S→6P resonance and subsequently probing the velocity distribution of the 6P population by a linear absorption experiment on the 6P→16S or 6P→15D transitions at 514 nm and 512 nm, respectively. We demonstrate that despite the existence of thermalization processes, traces of the initial velocity selection, imposed by the pump, survive in hyperfine levels of the intermediate (6P) state.

Method: The systematic literature review was conducted in the PubMed, Lilacs, Scopus, Web of Science and gray literature. The year in which the study was conducted was not restricted.
Purpose: The American Clinical Neurophysiology Society has provided a set of recommendations on the use of critical care EEG monitoring (CEEG). However, these recommendations have not been prospectively validated. We aimed to assess the adherence to the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society recommendations for obtaining CEEG for different indications and the yield of obtained CEEG according to these different indications.

Habitat degradation is considered the primary cause of population decline, leading to the designation 'Vulnerable' in certain regions. In this study, we conducted a genetic analysis of populations of from Cabo Verde and compared them with populations from the Mediterranean and Macaronesia.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTicks are hematophagous ectoparasites that transmit pathogens and inflict significant economic losses on the cattle industry. Remarkably, they can survive extended periods of starvation in the absence of a host. The primary objective of this study was to investigate the metabolic adaptations that enable the tick to endure starvation using the BME26 cell line as a model system.
