Since 2022, cases of hepatitis of unknown origin have been reported in children worldwide. Adeno-associated virus type 2 (AAV2) was identified as a cause, with most affected children having the HLA-DRB1 04:01 genotype. In this study, we hypothesized that HLA-DRB1 04:01 in the host may also be a potential predisposing factor of acute hepatitis caused by other viruses.

We created three-dimensional printed models and computer graphics based on multi-slice computed tomography of patients with complex multiple ventricular septal defects for surgical decision planning of this difficult cardiac defect.
Methods: Seven patients with complex multiple ventricular septal defects were evaluated preoperatively using three-dimensional printed models and computer graphics to plan therapeutic interventions.
: Remote dielectric sensing (ReDS) is a recently developed, noninvasive, electromagnetic energy-based technology designed to quantify pulmonary congestion without requiring expert techniques in adult patients with heart failure. However, its applicability in pediatric patients remains unknown. : ReDS values and chest X-rays were simultaneously obtained from pediatric patients with a history of Fontan surgery at an outpatient clinic.

Objectives: To retrospectively evaluate plasma amylase concentrations in client-owned guinea pigs (Cavia porcellus) and determine a possible association with mortality.
Materials And Methods: Medical records of guinea pigs that had a biochemistry panel from four institutions were retrospectively reviewed. Guinea pigs were excluded from the study if plasma amylase concentrations were not measured or there was no follow-up 30 days after the initial biochemistry panel.
Male humpback whales () sing a slowly evolving, sexually selected song display socially learned from conspecifics. Within an ocean basin, song similarity between breeding populations can reveal the degree of connectivity among them. In the northwestern Pacific Ocean, there is a paucity of information on song dynamics and linkages across the ocean basin.
