Introduction: Antimicrobial stewardship programs (ASPs) monitor antimicrobial consumption and implement interventions in order to improve their use. Here, we analyze the trends in antimicrobial consumption at hospitals participating in the VINCat Program over a 15-year period in Catalonia, Spain.
Methods: We conducted a time-series analysis of systemic antimicrobial consumption in both adult and pediatric populations across 72 acute care centers.
Despite the importance of liver secreted proteins in health and disease, an understanding of their regulation by biological variables such as sex and circadian time is lacking. Here, we validated a well-maintained, dynamic, and unbiased ex vivo assay of liver protein secretion, revealing novel findings. Proteomic analyses uncovered hundreds of sex-dependent hepatokines involved in lipid metabolism, sulfation, and serine protease inhibition, as well as time-dependent hepatokines.

With recent increases in mortality due to 'deaths of despair' among non-Hispanic whites and other groups it is important to understand the contribution of deaths of despair to the Hispanic mortality advantage overall and how it varies by age and geography.
Methods: Using national mortality data across three decades (1990-2019) we calculated LE at birth for Hispanics and non-Hispanic whites, overall and by place (established Hispanic destinations before 1990, and new Hispanic destinations by 2000, 2010 and 2020).
Migration generates changes in the quality of life (QoL) of immigrants. One of the difficulties that the process of migrating can entail is discrimination, which is the set of negative attitudes towards a person, in this case, because of their nationality. To analyze the effect that the sense of coherence (SOC) has on the relationship that discrimination by national origin has on quality of life.
