Multifunctional Porous Soft Composites for Bimodal Wearable Cardiac Monitors.

Wearable heart monitors are crucial for early diagnosis and treatment of heart diseases in non-clinical settings. However, their long-term applications require skin-interfaced materials that are ultrasoft, breathable, antibacterial, and possess robust, enduring on-skin adherence-features that remain elusive. Here, we have developed multifunctional porous soft composites that meet all these criteria for skin-interfaced bimodal cardiac monitoring.

Fentanyl versus nebulized ketamine for prehospital analgesia: A retrospective data review.

Study Objective: To evaluate the comparative effectiveness of fentanyl and ketamine via Breath Actuated Nebulizer (BAN) for analgesia in the prehospital setting.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective cross-sectional evaluation of patients receiving fentanyl or ketamine via BAN for pain management in a large suburban EMS system between 3/1/2022 and 6/1/2023. The primary outcome was change in first to last pain score.

Water quality and stock assessment of Schizothorax niger (Alghad snowtrout) in Manasbal Lake, Kashmir Himalaya.

The current work was conducted to investigate fisheries dynamics, rate of growth, and mortality, along with demographic features of Schizothorax niger using length-frequency data collected monthly from Manasbal Lake from August 2020 and July 2022. The length data for estimation was categorized into 13 bins, and population parameters were explored utilizing various options in ELEFAN I, with the best fit (Rn = 0.282) calculated by means of the FiSAT-II application.

Oxidative Injury to Lung Mitochondrial DNA is a Key Contributor for the Development of Chemical Lung Injury.

The mechanisms and extent to which inhalation of oxidant gases damage the mitochondrial genome contributing to the development of acute and chronic lung injury have not been investigated. C57BL/6 mice exposed to chlorine (Cl ) gas and returned to room air, developed progressive loss of lung DNA glycosylase OGG1, significant oxidative injury to mtDNA, decreased intact lung mitochondrial (mt) DNA, generation of inflammatory pathway by DAMPs causing airway and alveolar injury with significant mortality. Global proteomics identified over 1400 lung proteins with alteration of key mitochondrial proteins at 24 h post Cl exposure.
