Introduction And Importance: Sigmoid volvulus, an instead identified case of bowel obstruction, is defined as twisting a segment of sigmoid around its mesentery. Despite Western countries in which sigmoid volvulus affects the elderly, in volvulus belt countries, it is a disorder of predominantly men in their 4th decade of life.
Case Presentation: A 52-year-old woman presented with 4 days of abdominal distension and constipation.
Manganese dioxide (MnO) is a well-known pseudocapacitive material that has been extensively studied and highly regarded, especially in supercapacitors, due to its remarkable surface redox behavior, leading to a high specific capacitance. However, its full potential is impeded by inherent characteristics such as its low electrical conductivity, dense morphology, and hindered ionic diffusion, resulting in limited rate capability in supercapacitors. Addressing this issue often requires complicated strategies and procedures, such as designing sophisticated composite architectures.

Methods: We developed a comorbidity index (PLCO-ci) using LCS-eligible participants' data from the Prostate Lung Colorectal and Ovarian (PLCO) trial (training set) and the National Lung Screening Trial (NLST) (validation set). PLCO-ci predicts 5-year non-lung cancer (LC) mortality using a regularized Cox model; with performance evaluated by the area under the ROC curve (ROC).
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have been gaining significant attention due to their potential application in medicine. Here, we investigated the effect of zeolite imidazole framework-8 (ZIF-8) on neuro-behavioral parameters, histopathology, inflammation, and oxidative stress levels of rats' brain samples. Forty-eight male Wistar rats were injected by four injections of saline or ZIF-8 at different doses of 5, 10, or 20 mg/kg via the caudal vein.

Herein, S-doped carbon dot (SCD) was synthesized using agricultural waste as carbon precursors and modified in-situ with rhodamine B dye (SCD@RHB) to construct efficient flouresent probe. SCD@RHB was loaded into HKUST-1 metal-organic framework (SCD@RHB/HKUST-1) and the probe was employed as ratiometric flouresent (RF) sensor for the determination of ciprofloxacin (CIP) antibiotic in trace level.
