Glucantime and quercetin electrospun nanofiber membranes: Fabrication and their evaluation as dressing for cutaneous leishmaniasis.

Cutaneous leishmaniasis is considered as one of the most concerns of the World Health Organization (WHO). The main objective of this study was to use polycaprolactone (PCL) nanofiber scaffolds in order to provide a topical drug delivery system capable of delivering glucantime (glu) and quercetin (qur) to cutaneous leishmaniasis wounds. First, PCL/glu/qur, PCL/glu, and PCL/qur nanofibers were prepared by an electrospinning method followed by characterization through scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR).

Prediction of Transport and Deposition of Porous Particles in the Respiratory System Using Eulerian-Lagrangian Approach.

Deep lung delivery is crucial for respiratory disease treatment. Although nano and submicron particles exhibited a good deposition efficiency in deep regions of the lung, powder nonuniformity and particle agglomeration reduce their efficiency. Inhalation of porous particles (PPs) can overcome the mentioned challenges due to their larger size and low-density.

In silico investigation of inhalation condition impacts on hygroscopic growth and deposition of salbutamol sulphate in human airways.

The objective of this study is to explore the transport, size growth, and deposition of Salbutamol Sulphate (SS) using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). A CT-based realistic model of human airways from the oral cavity to the 5th generation of the lung was utilized as the computational domain. Four Test Cases (TC) with varying temperature and relative humidity (RH) under two inspiratory waveforms were considered to completely evaluate the impact of inhalation conditions on particle growth.

Diversity of malignancies in patients with different types of inborn errors of immunity.

Genetic defects in the development, maturation, and/or function of the immune cells can lead to Inborn errors of immunity (IEI) which may predispose patients to malignancies. The overall risk for cancer in children with IEI ranges from 4 to 25% and the type of malignancy is highly dependent on the specific mutant gene underlying IEI. We investigated 3056 IEI patients registered in the Iranian national registry between the years 1999 and 2020 in this retrospective cohort study.

Socio-cognitive analysis of farmers' water conservation behaviour: The case of the Kavar plain, Iran.

Agricultural activities have a lot of effects on the environment so that water conservation measures help produce crops and consume water resources sustainably. The present research mainly aimed to explore farmers' water conservation behaviour using the comprehensive action determination model (CADM). The research was conducted on the farmers in the Kavar plain in Fars province, Iran (N = 4000).
