Species distribution models (SDMs) can be used to predict distributions in novel times or space (termed transferability) and fill knowledge gaps for areas that are data poor. In conservation, this can be used to determine the extent of spatial protection required. To understand how well a model transfers spatially, it needs to be independently tested, using data from novel habitats.

Methods: For this study, a four-week, single-case, multiple-participant ABA study design was used. Through convenience sampling, four participants scoring 15 or greater on the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI), which categorizes them as having moderate to severe insomnia, and much more than most people in sensory sensitivity on the Adolescent/Adult Sensory Profile were recruited.
Background: Advances in vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) technologies may enable drone-like crewed air ambulances to rapidly respond to out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) in urban areas. We estimated the impact of incorporating VTOL air ambulances on OHCA response intervals in two large urban centres in France and Canada.
Methods: We included adult OHCAs occurring between Jan.

High-pressure in situ x-ray diffraction and specific-volume measurements on isotactic poly(4-methyl-1-pentene) melt have uncovered abrupt changes in the pressure dependence of microscopic structure as well as that of macroscopic density. The first sharp diffraction peak of the polymer melt, which is related to the intermediate-range order and is explained as resulting from the correlations between main chains, is suppressed at pressures less than 1 kbar. These changes in intermediate-range order show similarities to those seen in liquid-liquid or amorphous-amorphous transitions in simpler small molecule based systems, suggesting that this kind of phenomenon may occur in a wide range of materials.
